Murphey's Law: Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong! Anything good in life is either illegal, immoral or fatting. Beauty is only skin deep, uglyness goes to the bone. Never play leapfrog with an unicorn. Never argue with a fool, people might not know the difference. The other line always moves faster. The repairman will never have seen a model like yours before. Merry Christmas

Wow, what a wonderful time of year it is! I just love Christmas and almost everything about it! (Apart from the crowds at the shops.) I love it because this is the time of year when families and friends come together for whatever reasons they indivudually have and they show love and support...and of course there are the presents. Everybody loves the presents. But I am even more excited about the next Christmas to come, because we will have a beautiful baby boy amongst our family, and children always make things a little but more exciting.

We are also looking forward to our wedding which is only five days after the big event of Christmas Day. Then it is off to the honeymoon for a lovely relaxing holiday. Everything for the wedding is organised and we are just waiting for the arrival of the day now. We are upset that some of our family and friends are unable to be there with us but our thoughts will be with you.
So I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Merry Christmas

and

Happy New Year

Stay safe,
Vaughn and Melissa

Time Flies

I can't believe all of the things that have happened since I last posted something on our blog-spot. We have been very busy little bees with everything that has been going on. From moving house, to Vaughn starting a new job, to the pregnancy. So here is all it all is;

Moving house; well we finally made the move from Carina down to Thorneside! It took a while to organise everything but we are happily in OUR new home. It is good owning the place because we can put pictures and shelves on the wall without having to worry about the marks etc. We are also preparing the nursery and are planning to paint which is so exciting. Choosing the colours and the furniture is lots of fun, we have purchased the paint and are in the process of sanding the walls and preparing the room to start. Saying all that we are happy to be in and we are so comfortable, however we could not have done it with all of the help on the day. So thankyou to Brian, Lee, Dad and Trish. The help was amazing and a God send.

Vaughn's new job; out of Smorgan Steel Vaughn has now been employed with our trusty brother-in-law at Earlee Products not far from home. The hours are so much more manageable (we actually feel like we get to see each other) and the convenience is great. Apart from that Vaughn likes the work (as much as you can like work i suppose) and enjoys the new friend that he has made in Brian. We have also had the good news the Vaughn will be employed as a full time worker after his first three months is finished. Which is comforting in itself.

Melissa and work; I have recently found employment at the childcare centre just a two minute walk from our house. I have a permanant 9 hours a week, and i am often asked to work extra hours on some of the days. Even so this is enough just to get me out of the house and socialise with some other people. The girls who work there are great and they are all excited about the baby. I am going to continue working there until Lauren and Olivia are on school holidays and then i will look after them whilst Michelle goes to work. I will enjoy seeing them, as they get older the time that i do see them seems to be less and less as we all seem to be so busy.

The Baby; is growing very fast and the time os flying. it is hard to believe that i am now 27 weeks through the pregnancy. This little boy is so active, if it is a sign of things to come we are in for an active lifestyle i can tell. Apart from the kicking anf the punching the pregnacy is going really well and everything is on track. Th nursery is on its way and this little one is already so spoilt.

The Big Day; is fast approaching, and everything is going smoothly. Only just over a month away, we will be sweltering in the heat (sorry about that) but we will be enjoying the day and then Vaughn will whisk me away for our honeymoon for a whole seven nights, cant wait to go to the beach and relax. Next weekend we will all be celebrating the wedding with the hens and the bucks night. Very exciting to bring everyone together for this. The boys have plans for a big night, i am trying not to worry about them too much :) behave boys, i want you all home in one piece please.

Well, i must leave it there, and i promise that i will update this a little sooner then i have been lately, i am slack i know.

Take care,
Vaughn and Melissa

'New Arrival'

It is so amazing to fathom that i tiny little baby is growing inside of me! As of this coming Sunday I will be 15 weeks into the pregnancy. Amazing, I feel several changes within myself but even more incredible is the rapid rate in which little 'button' (our nickname for the bub) is growing.

About me; I have a tiny, little but visable bump (let's just say a little more than I have ever had!), I am slowly coming out of morning sickness, I find that I have my good days and my bad days. I am always rushing to the bathroom (so very frustrating for both me and Vaughn, poor guy) and I am also seeing a change in my skin and of course my body weight. Vaughn still finds it all hard to comprehend as he is not the one carrying the baby, or feeling all of the side effects. Although I am sure that he is feeling my mood swings (once again, poor guy).

About bub; they say that at this stage the baby is quite active even though I am not able to feel anything, it is kicking and stretching away. Bub can bend its arms at the elbow, and already has wrists and ankles, as well as tiony fingernails. I must say that they must be so so small. As the picture of the ultrascreen the baby was only 3.89cm long from rump to head. This photo was taken at 10.5 weeks. The babies fingers and toes have now seperated and they are now distinct, bub is also developing genitals inside the body and they usually are visible at about 16 weeks, but I have my next scan at about 18 weeks.

Well that should be enough information to get you thinking about the cycle of life. I can tell you that everytime that i read more information on the growing baby and more books I am just blown away at the thought of it all. It truly is a miracle.

Till next time
Stay safe :)

Brisbane Ekka

Well, what an exciting week it has been. Where do i start?

Thursday the 17th of August, 2006 -
I am a part of the East Side Community Choir, we formed in February of this year (a short time to be together) and we have begun performing and preparing for more performances in the future. We bring a message of hope and encouragement, and meeting every monday night we are able to come together and sing and praise God and support each other.
Well we sang at our second ever performance at the ekka on Thursday night. It was a wonderful night and we all enjoyed it, other than the nerves there was a great atmosphere all around.

Saturday the 19th of August, 2006 -
Tonight the East Side Community is once again gathering for our last performance at the Brisbane Ekka, however Vaughn and I decided to go in a little bit earlier to enjoy a day at the ekka. We took a birds eye view on the chair lift, tackled the showbag pavillion only to find out that most of the showbags were sold out (last day of the ekka), watched some of the shows in the green arena, and made the day with a traditional dagwood dog with tomato sauce and a strawberry icecream. It is not an ekka experience without the tastes of yummy foods and showbags.

After a big day of walking around looking at all of the sites we eventually made it home only to flop into bed and fall asleep within minutes of our heads hitting the pillow.
